As you undergo cancer treatment, monitoring your progress helps to determine if the treatment is working.
Monitoring tests are similar to the tests used to diagnose cancer and it’s stage. These tests include:
- CT scan
- Blood tests
- Tumor marker
- PET Scans
Your medical oncologist at Lancaster Cancer Center may order one or more of these tests throughout your course of treatment. Responses are measured to determine if the cancer is stable, shrinking, or has progressed. With these responses, your doctor will be able to evaluate the course of treatment.
